Qi, Ch'i, Feng Shui

So, I rearranged the master bedroom the other day in order to fit a pack n play in there next to the bed. I also rearranged our ginormous walk in closet and cleaned the bathroom. It's been a busy week. Anyhoo...I moved our bed to the wall directly across from the door. At first, I wasn't really sure how I felt about the arrangement and if I'd had the energy at the time, I probably would have moved everything back the way it was. However, it has grown on me and I actually really like the feel of the room. It feels more open.
Mike was pretty surprised to see my handy work when he got home. He liked the room right away. Yesterday he tells me that he swears he sleeps better now because the room is more Feng Shui (since the bed is now facing the door) and the Qi (pronounced Chi) is able to flow better now. I however have noticed no difference in my sleep. lol. Last night I was teasing him about the whole Qi thing (he's partly joking, partly serious I think) and he tells me half jokingly, "There are two types of people in this world. Those who believe in Qi and those who soon will" or something like that. Thank you, oh wise one. hahaha. Seriously. He cracks me up. But if I guess if he's sleeping better, then it doesn't matter if it's because of Qi or not.

It's true...she's two!!!

I can't believe it. I know parents say it constantly, but it's true. Time just goes by so fast. This girly is so much fun and just chuck full of personality and cuteness (and a little bit of attitude). We just love her so much and are so glad she is a part of our family.

I'm sure you noticed the running white frosting. Note to self, marshmallow cream + room temperature=

Pretty creepy lookin' huh? I'm glad I got pictures of it while it still looked cute.

But hey, at least it still tasted good.

Jacob was just itching to get at this cake. All day he kept saying, "wanna eat the bug!!!"
For dinner we made our own pizzas. They turned out really good. (skookie pans are the coolest by the way!!)
Mike stayed up way passed his bed time putting together her birthday present last night. I locked it in the guest room so she wouldn't see it. That way, Mike would be home when she saw it for the first time. Well, Just before I started dinner, Jacob came up to me talking about a house. He was all excited and kept saying, "Mamma's house?? Mamma's house??" I couldn't figure out what he was talking about, so I had him show me. He led me upstairs and I found that they some how got that door open and had discovered it! So, neither of us got to see her reaction when she first saw it. Oh well. She loves it and I guess that's all that matters.
Happy Birthday Lulu. We love you!!!

31 weeks...almost.

Tomorrow I will be 31 weeks. I was going to do a 30 week picture, but I never looked presentable enough for a picture last week. :) So...9 more weeks to go. YAY!!!

Crazy Kiddos

We are attempting to potty train Jacob...again. Lulu likes to sit on the little potty whenever Jacob goes potty. This time, however, she thought it should be Big Birds turn.
Jacob was being a scary monster to the scary Super Mario music. He just randomly started doing it and does it any time this music comes on when Mike is playing.

Baby Books

I decided that I should probably get on top of things and get some baby books put together for my kids. The photo's a just piling up and it's getting more and more difficult to sort through them all. I did several pages for Jacob a long time ago. I just need to put them together and and get a photo book ordered. I just finished book one of Lizzie's. I figured I'll go back and forth and between the two kids and get as much done before little Jimmy gets here and I have one more to start. Jacob is gonna be the most time consuming, because I have 4 years worth of pictures to sort through. sigh. Anyhoo...here are some of my favorite pages. (not in order)

Have I mentioned how I LOVE digital scrapbooking. It's a lot cheaper and about half the work. :)

Jacobisms

Before I forget I thought I'd hurry and share some cute and recent Jacobisms.

The other day he came up to me with his arms spread out like wings and said, "Momma, I want to fly!!" And was very sad to find out he couldn't.

While we were at the DC temple this passed weekend we didn't have enough time to go into the visitors center to see the Christus, but you could see it through the window. As we were driving passed Jacob yells out, "I wanna go see Jesus!!!" We didn't stop and I am really regretting it now. I think we may have passed up a really great teaching opportunity. But I thought it was really cute that he recognized who it was and wanted so badly to go see him. Hopefully we will get to make it back up there in the summer and we will make a point of taking him to see the statue.

Jacob starts sunbeams this year. He has yet to actually go because we were all sick the first Sunday and out of town the second. I can't believe he will be 4 in a couple months. He is getting so big. Lizzie too. I can't believe she will be 2 this month. Both are such cute kids and it is so fun to watch them learn and grow.

Weekend in DC

Since Mike had the weekend off and so did our friend Jon who lives in DC, we decided to take a weekend trip up there to visit him and his wife. We had a lot of fun hanging out with them on Saturday and they took us to a great pizza place. Jacob and Lizzie had fun playing with Lana, their dog. Overall it was a really good visit.

Sunday we got up early and headed to Church at 9am. We were a little late and by the time we got there, there was no more room for us to sit so we ended up just sitting on the couch in the foyer. There were actually several late comers and I was kind of surprised they never opened up the overflow. Oh well. One of those late comers was a girl I went to school with who grew up in the same neighborhood and me. I was so surprised to see a familiar face. It really is a small world. But it was fun to see her and her cute family and chat with her (even though we should have been listening to the speakers. haa.)

After church we headed back to our hotel to change and check out. Then we decided to go get some pictures at the DC temple. It is one of my favorite temples. It is so pretty. It's even prettier in the summer time when the reflection pool isn't frozen over and the trees and grass are green. :) But we still got some good pictures of it.

Jacob was just happy to be outside playing in the snow. He has been asking for snow for the longest time. I kept telling him that we don't get snow where we live, but he just didn't understand. So, we were pleasantly surprised when there was still snow on the ground when we got there.

He kept saying, "I like it here. I like the snow". He didn't care that it was freezing cold.

Lizzie on the other hand was not a fan of the cold. I couldn't bundle her up enough. She kept saying, "It's coowd, it's cooooowd" and wanting me to hold her. I forgot to bring my own hat and gloves so I too was quite cold. I ended up having to put my scarf over my head to keep my ears from freezing. I looked quite lovely. :)
You can just see how happy Jacob was to be there.

We plan to take this trip again sometime in the summer. That way we will be able to go see more stuff while we are there. I must say, although I'm not a fan of living in ghettoville and I do miss living closer to home, I love being close enough to go see all these fun places. I'm glad we are taking advantage of the time we have here to do fun stuff and I think I might actually miss it when it comes time to leave.
